At HydroGuard, rainwater harvesting and borehole water treatment solutions are designed to provide reliable, sustainable water supply for homes and businesses, reducing reliance on municipal systems and supporting efficient water management.

Rainwater Harvesting Systems

Harvesting rainwater is an effective way to conserve water and reduce municipal consumption. HydroGuard designs systems tailored to your property:

  • Rainwater Tanks – Sized to your property’s needs, from small domestic systems to large-scale irrigation or commercial use. Choose between farm style corrugated steel or plastic roto-moulded tanks. We also build and install bespoke treated timber screening to conceal tanks if required.
  • Catchment & Transfer – Roof catchment areas direct rainwater into tanks via gutters and downpipes. Sump tanks and automatic submersible transfer pumps can also be used, maximising collection without cluttering your property.
  • First-Flush System – Sized according to roof area and installed between gutters and tanks, this part of the system removes most of the sediment and debris from the roof and gutters at the start of rainfall. It is drained manually after use.
  • Filtration & Purification – Water is filtered through media and multi-stage systems, including a UV sterilizer, to ensure safe, clean water for irrigation, household, or drinking purposes.
  • Pressure Management – Booster pumps and pressure tanks deliver consistent water flow to all taps.

Borehole Water Treatment

Boreholes provide a valuable source of groundwater, but treatment is essential to ensure safety and usability:

  • Storage Tanks – Raw, untreated borehole water must be stored in tanks to provide an adequate supply to the treatment system. Treated water is then stored in clean water tanks to provide an adequate supply for consumption.
  • Transfer Pumps – Pump raw borehole water through the treatment system to the clean water tank/s.
  • Filtration – Removes suspended particles and debris using media filters.
  • Disinfection – Chlorine or UV light treatment eliminates bacteria and pathogens.
  • Advanced Treatments – Optional reverse osmosis, softening, or pH adjustment based on water quality.
  • Testing & Monitoring – We partner with SANAS-accredited labs to regularly test water quality and maintain system performance.
